Mitsubishi Lancer  

This car started life as a humble family/farm car as a MX Diesel 4WD. We had already done a similiar swap done before which resulted in a best 1/4 of 11.28. So the goal is to beat that time, but still have a car we can daily drive. Since we now had a MX Diesel 4wd as a donar car, and a old track/drag car with alot of the gear we needed on it already the project began.  We swapped everything onto the MX shell from the old Evo drag car.

Step 1. Evolve a Mx to a Evo.

With how many Evo's we have had in the past we had everything needed to make a MX Diesel into a Evo Runner Interior wise and Exterior wise.

So the ripping out of the old and the putting in the new began.

It wasn't long till we had our once Farm Hack start to look the part.

Step 2. Build the engine.

Step 3..Tune

With a trip up to see Mark at Tricky Tune. He set it up on the dyno and started tuning.

The results speck for them self and isn't bad for a run in tune.

374.8wkw at 7400 - 18psi

Step 4. Mags/Tyres

To get the car new found power to the ground we pulled our set off "Work" mags of our Ex-Drag Evo. The tyres that were on currently weren't suited to road use so we picked up a set of brand new Toyo RA1 Semi's which will make it stick to the ground a hell alot better.

Step 5. See how it runs down the strip.

Round 2 Night wars was on so we thought we see what the car could do down the 1/4. Setting the car to only 12psi we managed to pull 11.8 two times in a row then took it home and were happy with the results on only 12psi!

Step 6. Brake Upgrade.

When you go faster you also need to stop faster. So we had a look around for some good brake rotors and brake pads.

We ended up using Zenizol Slotted and Cross Drilled Rotors and some Mintex 1166 Brake Pads from Race Brakes

 7. Body Kit

Like most Evo's/GSR we went for the humble Evo 3 Body Kit. And stuck some Evo front Guards on the Mx.

Next on the card's will be a paint job. It be painting the guard's and kit the same as the car if possible. Or a full respray as at the moment it's a panda with Silver body, Grey Guards and White Kit.
